home security-the basics

Home Security 101-The Basics of Securing Your Home
By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Jack_Krohn]Jack Krohn

First things first, the problem of home burglaries and home invasions is an ever increasing threat to all American homeowners.

In the latest year that statistics were released, 2004, the Bureau of Justice reported that:

• Nearly one out of six homes was violated by a burglar.

• Three fourths of all crime was property related.

• In nearly 90% of all burglaries, the burglar gained entry into the house or other building.

This is something to remember: property crime occurs every 3 seconds, a home burglary every 15 seconds.

That's the bad news. The enormously good news is that almost any expert in the field will tell you that 90%-that's right 90% of all burglaries can be prevented.

So if the odds are so good that it will happen to you and it is such a preventable event-what is it you have to do to stop the burglars?

Let's start with the basics. There are several simple things that can be done to make your home more secure in the face of almost certain intrusion from a burglar. TIME, LIGHT, NOISE-they are the biggest enemies of burglars.

As a matter of fact, homes with a security system have far fewer break-ins than those that don't. This is not an all inclusive list but one that if followed will certainly go a long way toward making your home more secure.

1. Take a critical look at your house from the outside. Look at your home as a burglar would. Is your house well lit maybe with motion activated spotlights? Are there hiding places near doors and windows? If you can spot a potential weakness in your home’s “look” you can bet a professional burglar can exploit it. Remember that LIGHT is a burglars’ enemy-darkness a friend.

2. What could slow down a burglar from entering your home? Simple home security devices such as locks on doors (deadbolts are best) and windows, bars, grates-items that are visible from the exterior of the house will not only act as a deterrent but slow down an intruder should he decide to try to enter. The more time it takes to break into a home, the more discouraged a burglar will become. TIME is the enemy of the burglar.

3. How noisy can you make it if someone gains entry? NOISE is also the enemy of the burglar. There are many home security alarms activated by doors or windows opening or by motion. The sound of a barking dog, real or recorded, are very effective and will scare most burglars away.

LIGHTS, NOISE AND TIME-they are the three biggest enemies of an intruder. If you implement these home security tips to fortify your house you may well avoid a lot of potential break-ins. Implement these home security tips and you will be able to sleep better in a more secure home.

how you see yourself in KRISHNA eyes

How You See Yourself In Krishna Eyes
By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Victor_Epand]Victor Epand

Going to Vaikuntha. We had a very interesting discussion on today's SB verse 4.12.36: "The self-effulgent Vaikuntha planets, by whose illumination alone all the illuminating planets within this material world give off reflected light, cannot be reached by those who are not merciful to other living entities.

Only persons who constantly engage in welfare activities for other living entities can reach the Vaikuntha planets." I started the class by explaining the term Vaikuntha indicated that the spiritual planets were free from anxiety, but in actuality when one become Krishna conscious anxiety (of a different sort) increases and the method for becoming Kcon is to put oneself in anxiety. The residents of Goloka experience extreme anxiety when they can not see Krishna or when Krishna goes to the forest with His cowherd boy friends or appears to go to Mathura. Even the Gopis experience anxiety when they are separated from Krishna by the blinking of their eyes. They experience so much anxiety that a moment is like twelve years or more.

Of course this anxiety is transcendental ecstasy and should not be confused with material anxiety that is based upon selfish considerations. But spiritual anxiety naturally arises because of love. Just like when mother loves a child, she is in anxiety when he/she cries. If there is no love the crying of a child is simply a botheration. When I am in a plane and there is a mother with a screaming child everyone except the mother is angry at the child because there is no love for the child. So, when there is love for Krishna one is always in anxiety about seeing Him, serving Him nicely, His safety, His happiness, etc. That is the Goloka mood.

In addition one is in anxiety about the plight of those parts and parcels of Krishna who are not serving Him at present. In the 5th Canto of the Bhagavatam, Pariksit Maharaja is presented with a description of the hellish planets. His response is to feel anxiety for the souls that are being punished and to enquire from Sukadeva Goswami as to the remedial measure for alleviating the suffering of these poor souls. Sukadeva Goswami tests his disciple Pariksit by first describing the process of atonement (prayascitta), but Pariksit (who is not a blind follower but an independently thoughtful pure devotee-not caught up in a hierarchical dynamic) rejects Sukadeva Goswami's prescription of atonement because atonement does not effect a change in the heart and a change in the counterproductive behavior of the materialist.

Sukadeva therefore describes the actual cure for material suffering in the famous verse SB6.3.31: "Sukadeva Gosvami continued: My dear King, the chanting of the holy name of the Lord is able to uproot even the reactions of the greatest sins. Therefore the chanting of the sankirtana movement is the most auspicious activity in the entire universe. Please try to understand this so that others will take it seriously."

own an ebay business

Make Money on eBay - Every Business Faces Challenges
By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Bob_Hamilton]Bob Hamilton

Owning and operating an eBay business is an exciting and challenging experience. There is the excitement of seeing your business plan come together. Soon you are seeing the first steps as the business moves forward. There is also the frustration of facing challenges as the business gets off the ground and as it experiences growing pains. Yet it moves ever-closer to the goal to make money on eBay.

Problems and challenges are to be expected in every business endeavor. The entrepreneur who opens a new business with the goal to make money on eBay should always be ready when problems arise. The key is to recognize when a problem or challenge is present and then to properly address it.

It is important that entrepreneurs always be prepared to face challenges and problems immediately. Don’t be afraid to deal with them head-on. Never allow them to linger, as they may be damaging your business today. The impact of a small problem that is unaddressed can be huge when that problem is ignored and allowed to continue to hurt your business. In fact a small problem that is allowed to linger may ultimately be the reason that an entrepreneur does not ever make money on eBay.

By meeting smaller problems head-on they are usually quickly remedied. It is the bigger problems that are more difficult. In some cases they can seem overwhelming and literally not solvable. However there is a way to solve every problem and to move ever-closer to the goal to make money on eBay.

Among the methods for solving bigger problems is to break the problem apart into small, more manageable pieces. Solve each of the pieces and the bigger problem is resolved as well. Another method is to recruit expert help to address major problems. Often an expert can provide suggestions that lead to a quick and easy solution that gets you back on the road to [http://www.onlineauctionsmadesimple.net/ebook2.htm]make money on eBay.

THINK LIKE A LEADER

How to Think Like a Leader
By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Patrick_Kallie]Patrick Kallie

These four leadership rules or principles are:

1. Take time out to confer with yourself.

2. Trade minds with people you want to influence.

3. Think progress, push for progress, and also believe in progress.

4. What is the human way to handle this.

Leadership rule number 1:

Take time out to confer with yourself and tap into your power of thinking. We usually picture leaders as exceptionally busy people, and they are. Being a great leader requires you to be in the thick of things. While it is overlooked, it is noteworthy that leaders spend considerable amount of time alone, with nothing but their own thoughts.

Leadership rule number 2:

Trade minds with people you want to influence is a magic way to get people such as associates, friends, employees, customers to act the way you want them to act. If you are on your way to selling a hot new product you want to look at the product the way your customer sees the product. Take yourself out of it and just focus on the customer.

Leadership rule number 3:

Think progress, push for progress, and believe in progress. Have you ever wondered why some people just never prosper and have a negative attitude about life? If they would just just forget about the negative things that happen in their life and believe they can succeed.

Leadership rule number 4:

People use different approaches to leadership situations. Some people think they have to be a dictator to get their point across. This usually never works out, some people may go along with it for a while but its just a ship waiting to sink! Some leader only want to go by the book when they lead, but one thing that they must know is that you are human and you must take that into consideration when you are a leader!
